This painting is called Smoke and Mirrors. It is from 2009 but I don't think I ever posted it.  It happened like this........Another painting sat in the back of Carol's car for two weeks in January. A very cold January. When I retrieved the painting from the car, it had cracked. I cracked the whole painting off the panel and turned the chunks of wax around. Inside out so to speak. Every mark I had made in painting that painting was revealed to me in the underside. 

I cut all the scraps into two inch squares and waxed them back down onto a new surface inside out. Very sculptural. It now lives in Palo Alto, California.
